Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome cats in need, giving them a second chance at a happy and fulfilling life. Head of SSRH

Manuela Brun

I started fostering for SSRH 4 years ago, and I quickly became part of the admin team running the Facebook page and acting as treasurer. In February 2025, I took over the running of SSRH with the support of my great team of volunteers. I have 5 furry babies of my own.

Team Leader

Helen Deards

As a Team Leader of a dedicated cat rescue. we respond to calls and messages from caring residents, fellow shelters, and veterinarians, all reporting feline friends in need. My role as Team Leader involves organizing our passionate team assigning tasks, and sometimes heading out on rescues myself.

My work is demanding, but my compassion, leadership and deep love for cats drive everything I do. Every cat I help is a life changed and for me that's what makes it worth it.

Meet Sam, a dedicated professional specializing in microchipping pets. With a passion for animal welfare, Sam ensures that each microchip is safely and accurately implanted, providing peace mind for pet owners. Committed to helping lost pets find their home, Sam offers friendly consultations and expert advice on the chipping process. Trust Sam to keep your furry friends safe and secure!

I became a SSRH fosterer after the loss of my furry baby girl in Feb 2022. I love cats and that through SSRH I get to give them a second chance in life by rehoming them to their forever home. I now have two cats of my own.

I foster, homecheck new adopters and help out at SSRH fundraising events, and enjoy the spending time with the SSRH team.

I foster cats and kittens for SSRH! I'm also trained to hand rear kittens that may come to us needing a little extra support.

I do this because its a very rewarding experience to be able to see how much they all grow and change.

Fostering cats is honestly one of the best things I've ever done. It's amazing to see a cat go from scared to happy, confident and ready for their forever home. Some need extra TLC, some just need a safe spot to land, but every single one is worth it. Saying goodbye can be tough, but knowing they're off to a loving home makes it all worthwhile.

If you've ever thought about it, go for it, you'll be giving a cat a second chance, and might just find its one of the most rewarding things you'll ever do.
